Unlocking the Business of Sustainability Through Tokenization
Businesses around the world are taking on sustainability issues such as climate change, only to find efforts related to climate accounting and verification too fragmented and complicated. These issues cannot be solved by any one company, and require standardization for multiparty agreements and a carbon market to emerge and scale. A standard for reporting emissions and tokenizing carbon credits has the potential to simplify reporting and improve the validity and transparency of data - dramatically reducing the effort involved in exchanging and converting carbon credits and managing a global carbon mitigation accounting system. IWA Board Chair Marley Gray and the leaders of IWA’s newly formed Sustainability Business Working Group -- Darko Pilav of Digital Asset, John Lee of Accenture, and Cameron Prell of Xpansiv -- will discuss the group's plans to tackle the challenges businesses around the world face when taking on sustainability issues.
