Resources for Special Educators and VR Counselors in Service Provision for Youth and Young Adults with Traumatic Brain Injury
This webinar will focus on what educators, transition teachers and VR counselors need to know in order to serve youth with TBI. Basic information about TBI, 504s, and IDEA, and its application to providing transition services to youth with TBI.

Session Outcomes:

Increase knowledge of general TBI information.

Increased awareness of TBI and students unique needs.
Increased knowledge of other national laws as they relate to TBI.

Increased understanding of quality transition planning practices and service delivery for students with TBI.

Knowledge of available resources for working with students with TBI.

Presenter: Dr. Melissa McCart

Melissa McCart works at the Center on Brain Injury Research and Training at the University of Oregon and the Director of the Oregon TBI Teams. She has been a special education teacher, school administrator and has taught,
published, and studied in the delivery of services to students with TBI for 8 years.
