The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the disparities and inequities that affect our communities. Although there is limited data in regards to COVID-19 directly affects the Filipinx/a/o community, the data that is available shows how Filipinx/a/o individuals are disproportionately affected by COVID-19.
Through the Pilipinx/a/o Sharing Stories Together (PSST) Podcast, the Filipinx/a/o Community Health Association (Fil-CHA) formerly known as Filipinx/a/o COVID-19 Resource and Response (Fil-COVID) Team will address the impacts of COVID-19 on the Filipinx/a/o community through education, data, and sharing personal narratives from our community members and those with backgrounds in the various topics we will be discussing. Fil-CHA champions health equity, justice, and well-being in the Filipinx/a/o community through community-driven, collaborative, and data-informed approaches. The association exists in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery to ensure visibility, accurate data, and equitable allocation of resources for the Filipinx/a/o community, empowering new and existing movements to create sustainable healing. This podcast series is in collaboration with the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO), was funded through the Walmart Foundation, and produced in partnership with "We Can Do This" and the Department of Health and Human Services.
The PSST Podcast is a family friendly video podcast. Filipinx/a/o individuals, families, and community members, this is our space to heal, grow, and learn together. Filipinx/a/o serving organizations and any allies are also welcome and invited to join us! This is a space for solidarity and bayanihan.
