This episode will look at media reporting during the pandemic, covering how facts and messaging about the virus and our safety have been communicated.
Chaired by Victoria Macdonald, Channel 4 News Health and Social Care editor, our guests are Professor Ivan Browne, Director of Public Health in Leicester, Robin McKie, science and environment editor for the Observer, and Dr David Oliver, consultant in geriatrics and general internal medicine at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and weekly columnist for the BMJ.
The panel will discuss the flow of information from scientists through government to the public, their experiences reporting and communicating the pandemic, the strengths and weaknesses of the coverage, and the role that healthcare professionals have played.
