Barry Jay Katz
Editor-in-Chief, Unconventional Resources
Barry Katz received his Ph.D. from the University of Miami in 1979 in marine geology and geophysics. He joined Texaco in 1979 and was named a Texaco Fellow in 1998. Dr. Katz continued with Chevron after the merger in 2001, where he is part of Chevron’s Energy Technology Company. Barry has also served as the Chairman of International Ocean Discovery Program’s Environmental Protection and Safety Panel since 2002.
Dr. Katz has authored more than 80 papers, has edited four books and has presented at numerous international conferences. He has served as Editor-in-Chief for Open Geology Journal, Houston Geology Society Bulletin, GCAGS Journal and the AAPG Bulletin, and on numerous editorial boards.
