Advancements in Cancer Management: Oncologic Emergencies
The 5th annual Advancements in Cancer Management is an educational series designed to foster dialog between primary care providers (PCPs) and the oncology team, providing strategies that contribute to coordinated, multi-disciplinary care for patients with cancer.

In this episode of the series, we will discuss the various emergencies cancer patients may present with and the appropriate actions for the primary care provider to take (for example, when to refer to an ER versus when to refer back to the oncology team).

After participating in this education, learners will be able to:
Discuss the management of oncologic emergencies

Cynthia Lynch, MD

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mansfield University, Dr. Lynch decided to continue her training. She completed post-Baccalaureate coursework at Bryn Mawr College and attended MCP – Hahnemann School of Medicine, completing her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2001. She was a resident in Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Deciding to specialize in cancer care, Dr. Lynch completed a three-year fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at East Carolina University/Brody School of Medicine. Licensed to practice medicine by the State of Arizona, Dr. Lynch is Board Certified in Hematology & Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
