Nutrition is commonly used to help manage gastrointestinal disorders, but does “one size fit all”? This lecture will discuss how nutrition can be used to manage different kinds of gastrointestinal disorders and how different nutritional strategies are appropriate to each. The lecture will first cover the role of specific nutrients in managing gastrointestinal disease. Then, we will cover the nutritional management of pancreatitis, acute gastroenteritis, colitis, megaesophagus, inflammatory bowel disease, and constipation/obstipation.
