Join us, in partnership with the Mütter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, as we discuss the influenza pandemic that affected the entire world 100 years ago. This webinar will highlight the evolution of responses to public health crises and discuss the upcoming exhibit Spit Spreads Death at the Mütter Museum (opening October 17).
Spit Spreads Death is a 100-year-old prevention campaign slogan. The upcoming exhibition and art project explores this historic public health event, epidemiology, and the connections to contemporary health issues. The exhibit explores how neighborhoods in Philadelphia were impacted by 1918-1919 pandemic, and how the disease spread throughout the city and the world. We will unpack historical misconceptions and discuss advances made.
