Pain is a non-motor symptom that people with Parkinson’s may experience. The intensity and duration of pain can vary from acute episodic to chronic, causing mobility challenges and an overall negative impact on one’s quality of life. In this session, Dr. Lau will discuss common types and causes of Parkinson’s-related pain, as well as strategies for self-managing pain. This presentation will also offer tips on how people with Parkinson's can change their mindset about their pain to reduce its intensity. An overview of services and consultations at the ChangePain Clinic will also be provided, including what can be expected at the clinic for treatment of Parkinson's-specific pain.
