Successes and Failures in Fighting COVID: Lessons for Healthcare Policy Makers

Dr Aviral Vatsa works with NHS Scotland as a clinician. For the last year of the current pandemic he has made efforts in bridging the gap between credible, scientific information and common people- primarily in India. His strength is an ability to demystify scientific jargon and align it with practical requirements of the common people.

Anant Maringanti is the director of Hyderabad Urban Lab, a multi-disciplinary urban research centre based in Hyderabad. He is a geographer with a PhD from University of Minnesota and has taught at several universities in India. He spends most of his time thinking about, teaching about, writing about cities and urbanization in South Asia.

Dr. Saleema Razvi is Senior Research Economist at the Copenhagen Consensus Centre working on prioritization of policy options based on economic, social and environmental cost-benefit analyses. She has written extensively on public health issues in India, including health insurance regulation and growth, and the impact of liberalization on healthcare service delivery.

Dr Umair Khan is a Paediatric Critical care Consultant at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children Edinburgh. He has worked across different health systems in India, the Middle East and UK and is passionately interested in equity of healthcare access for all.

Dr Raghib Ali is an independent expert adviser to the UK government on COVID and ethnicity. His main research interests are the aetiology and prevention of non-communicable diseases in populations which have not previously been studied, including populations in the UK, India and the Middle East.
