National Ecosystem Assessments to Support Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity
The Sub-Global Assessment Network in collaboration with the NEA Initiative is hosting a webinar to mark the official launch of the new guidance document “National Ecosystem Assessments to Support Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity”. This event is open to public audiences and will be particularly relevant to CBD and IPBES National Focal Points and anyone working to strengthen their country’s commitments to the CBD.

The aim of the webinar is to demonstrate how national ecosystem assessments can support countries in key aspects of the Convention on Biological Diversity’s (CBD) implementation process: biodiversity planning; national reporting; technical and scientific cooperation; capacity building; communication, education, and public awareness; and resource mobilisation.

The objectives of the webinar are to:
1) Provide participants with a brief overview of national ecosystem assessments and how the IPBES methodology can be tailored to national ecosystem assessments.
2) Demonstrate how national ecosystem assessments can help countries to overcome challenges in key aspects of the implementation of the CBD.
