Conversations With Counsel: New Pandemic Year, New Challenges for California Employers

•Voluntary Covid paid sick leave
The federal and California mandatory paid sick leave laws were not extended into 2021, but employees continue to need time off for Covid-related reasons. Employers must decide whether (and on what terms) they will continue to offer voluntary Covid paid sick leave, and also be aware of the various other forms of leave potentially available to employees.
