UGS Annual Conference - "A new direction in farming" (Dairy)
Description
Due to the ongoing Corvid 19 restrictions the UGS will be hosting its 62nd Annual Conference via online platform Zoom on 24th and 25th February.
Based on the theme “A new direction for farming” our conference will focus on current and future post Brexit challenges to our grass-based livestock industry. Greater consumer awareness means that farmers must produce tracible quality food produced to high animal welfare standards. There is also a need to address environment targets towards carbon neutral farming and to farm in a sustainable way to protect the biodiversity of our countryside. This together with the need for good business management and family succession planning, form the core of this year’s UGS conference.
The webinar on the second evening, Thursday 25th February at 8pm will focus on dairying.
The presentations will be delivered by Arthur Fearnell and Colin Glass (see speaker biographies below).
