Rev. Dr. Heber Brown, III
Rev. Dr. Heber Brown, III is the Senior Pastor of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD, and the Founding Director of Orita’s Cross Freedom School. A graduate of Morgan State University, Virginia Union University and Wesley Theological Seminary, he is a speaker and lecturer for many religious higher education institutions. He launched the Black Church Food Security Network in 2015, which brings the Black church community together for health, wealth, and empowerment. His dedication to empowering the Black Community is well-known. As a catalyst for transformation and social change, he was mentioned in the Urbanite Magazine as one of the “Change Makers of Baltimore City” and was named “The 50 People You’ll Be Talking About This Year” by Grist. Org. He is a recipient of many awards such as the Ella Baker Freedom Fighter Award, The Afro American Newspaper’s “25 Under 40 Emerging Black History Leaders” award, and the Emerging Leaders Award from the Claneil Foundation.
