Keynote speaker: Dr James McKay. FRACS (Gen) CICM
Dr McKay is dual trained in both General Surgery and Intensive Care Medicine and is a fellow of both RACS and CICM. He completed his medical degree and both surgical and CU training in New Zealand. Dr McKay completed a Masters degree in Trauma Sciences through Queen Mary University and the Royal London Hospital. He subsequently moved to Vancouver, Canada and completed a Fellowship in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery completing this in 2020 before moving back home. He currently practices as a General/Trauma Surgeon and ICU specialist in Christchurch, NZ. Dr McKay participates in various local regional trauma committees and is a current member of the ANZAST executive committee.
