This webcast will focus on the importance of teaching sexual health and education to students with disabilities. Practitioners and researchers will provide recommended topics to cover, strategies for addressing student needs and family concerns, and instructional resources.
Laura Corona, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and assistant professor of pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is also a member of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders, where she is involved in outreach and professional development opportunities for educators and families throughout Tennessee.
Michele Schutz, M.Ed. is a doctoral student and research assistant in the Department of Special Education at the Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. Before beginning her doctoral work, Michele worked as a special education teacher and transition specialist in Chicagoland schools. Her research interests include systems-level programming for secondary transition in schools and communities, particularly around interagency collaboration for employment.
