BUCS and Playwaze Presents: Enabling a digital journey to an active life
Over the past twelve months, university sport departments have had to pivot their offering, providing more digital opportunities for students to engage in. Together with our partners Playwaze, we will look at how they see their platform supporting participants in their journey to an active life through school, university, into adult life, and beyond.

Ciaran O’Brien, Head of Sport at the University of West Scotland, will discuss the university’s use of the Playwaze platform to create online activity finders to allow students to find and book onto sessions. Ciaran will also touch on their use of virtual challenges to keep students engaged over lockdown across multiple campuses, including their successes and learnings.

Loughborough University’s Recreational Sport Assistant Coordinator Tilly Higgs, will share her experiences on being a long-standing customer of Playwaze, with Loughborough using their technology to run leagues in their IMS programme for the last few years. Tilly will also cover how Loughborough launched their own challenges on the platform as part of BUCS Active 4.

We will also hear from Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport, the region’s Active Partnerships, on how they have taken on the platform as a key part of their Children and Young People strategy. Playwaze will then join up the dots between its work in the school sport and higher education sectors, alongside its work with national governing bodies and other strategic partners.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to all the panellists; join us for an hours discussion on how the Playwaze platform is using online to get people active offline.
