CCA’s Corequisite Support is designed to replace traditional remediation with a strategy that places students in their gateway math course while providing them with just-in-time academic support.
At Helena College, a large percentage of entering students test below college-level math. Despite the fact that remedial courses were successful, the transition to and completion of the subsequent college-level math course remained an obstacle. Corequisite Support looked promising; however, Helena College is a 2-year, open-enrollment campus. How would this strategy work for students who need more than just a review of the prerequisite skills?
In this webinar, Robyn Kiesling, General Education and Transfer Division Chair and Joyce Walborn, Math Faculty discuss the implementation of Corequisite Support at a small, 2-year college and the success of its students.
