The courts are pushing forward with virtual civil jury trials whether practitioners want them or not. We will share the 360 view of what we've learned from the virtual trials and advisory teams from around the country and discuss the common pitfalls and how to avoid/overcome them.
The discussion will be around if/why we need to continue to be worried about virtual juries (primarily bias in selection and exclusion of the poor, women, caretakers, minorities, etc.).
The panel will explore the need for balance in expediency (where justice also requires a representative jury) and the myriad appellate issues a virtual jury trial will likely inevitably cause.
