COVID-19 and Disability Insurance for Individuals Living with ME/CFS
Agenda

11:00 am – 11:05 am- Introduction

11:05 am – 11:25 am- Connecting COVID-19 and ME/CFS: What Dr. Snell and The Workwell Foundation have learned from past epidemics (SARS, etc.)

Dr. Snell will share his perspective and experience with diseases and past epidemics as they pertain to the effects we see from COVID-19 and individuals living with fatigue- related diseases and conditions such as Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS).

Dr. Snell will discuss how investigative tools such as Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET) are a vital part of long term disability claims, appeals, and litigation, especially in the areas of claims based on conditions and diseases that make individuals too disabled to perform their jobs.

11:25 am – 11:50 am- The Disability Lawyer’s Perspective: What attorneys and their clients can expect when they submit Long Term Disability (LTD) claims that are related to COVID-19.

As Dr. Snell will have explained, the symptoms of COVID-19 match those of ME/CFS. Andrew Kantor has helped several people who live with ME/CFS with their LTD claims.

Andrew Kantor will share the Long Term Disability claims, appeals, and litigation process in the areas of ERISA and insurance bad faith.

Attorneys who work with people in the areas of Social Security Disability (SSDI), Workers Compensation, Employee Benefits and others should know the nuances of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).

ERISA is very specialized and interrelated with SSDI. Attorneys will be better equipped to serve their clients when they are able to see the big picture
