Join the Global Returns Project on 23 March 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. for a free webinar featuring three of today’s most prominent experts on sustainability and climate finance.
Jonathon Porritt, Co-Founder of Forum for the Future, is a veteran campaigner and eminent writer, broadcaster and commentator on sustainable development. Mike Berners-Lee, author of 'There Is No Planet B: A Handbook for the Make or Break Years', consults, writes and researches on sustainability and responses to 21st century challenges. Joanne Etherton serves as the Climate Finance Lead for ClientEarth: an environmental not-for-profit using the power of the law to protect the planet and all that inhabit it.
Moderated by Yan Swiderski, a Trustee of the Global Returns Project, the 'Capitalism and the Climate Crisis' panellists will discuss the role that markets play in both creating and mitigating climate change. How has capitalism helped produce the Climate Crisis, and how might markets continue to hinder environmental action today? How has capitalism enabled creative solutions to climate change, and what are their limitations? And what role should effective policy and regulation play?
After an initial discussion between the panellists, the Global Returns Project will open the floor to questions from event attendees. Registration for the panel is free of charge.
One tree will be planted every time someone signs up for the Global Returns Project newsletter when registering. Sign up to the newsletter for free here: https://globalreturnsproject.earth/newsletter/.
