Mummers Festival Virtual Hobby Horse Workshop
With nails for teeth and a snapping jaw, the hobby horse is a strange mummers disguise and a most peculiar breed of animal. Build a hobby horse and submit a video for our Virtual Mummers Parade!  We want a cavalry of holiday beasts and need your help!

One (1) material kit per family, please.

Your material kit will include everything you need except a hammer, duct tape, a hot glue gun and glue sticks, and a stick of some kind to insert into the Hobby Horse Head (old hockey sticks work great!).

We'll provide a piece of material to drape over your head - but feel free to mix it up with whatever you have at home too.

Join us for this Zoom webinar workshop and follow facilitator Kyle Krumsick as he teaches you how to build your very own Hobby Horse!

Kyle Krumsick
Kyle Krumsick comes by his artistic nature...well...naturally. Hailing from Oregon on the west coast of the US, Kyle was raised in a place that takes great pride in being weird, often expressed through quirky artistic displays (from portraits of Karl Marx created out of jelly beans to bagpipe performers on unicycles wearing Darth Vader masks). Some of his own artistic endeavors include chain and scale mail creation, costume design, photography, quilted masks, photo-realistic string art, and piano performance. Through several years of volunteer work at the annual hobby horse workshops Kyle has not only created many of his own hobby horses but helped others to bring their creative visions to life. He proudly shows off his hobby horse featuring glowing red eyes and a maw full of Christmas lights to anyone willing to cater to his enthusiasm. This magnificent beast as well as some of Kyle’s other costume creations have made it on the local news for several years.
