GNDR Local Leadership Academy - Risk-informed development in a forced displacement context
UNHCR reports that 2018 saw the world’s forcibly displaced population reach a record high: 70.8 million people were forcibly displaced due to persecution, conflict, generalised violence, human rights violations, or other reasons. With the average length of displacement reaching 25 years, it is critical that it is not only the short-term needs of internally displaced people and refugees that are met, but also that they are able to build longer-term resilience. Building resilience when people are on the move is inherently difficult. In this session, experts from across the network will present tools and research to address challenges and trends and implement risk-informed development in a forced displacement setting, and provide opportunities for you to ask questions.
