Public International Law, Human Rights, and Development: Myanmar and Thailand
The conference is organised by Sarina Yamahata, a final year LLB Law student at King's College London, with funding received from King's College London's Student Opportunity Fund. It will be held from 3 - 5 November 2021 under particular themes per day.

The first two days will focus on a broad discussion of Myanmar, Thailand, and their common struggle for democracy. The last day will be focused solely on applying international law to the current situation in Myanmar, exploring various questions as to whether other states can intervene, possibilities of a humanitarian intervention, the question of a responsibility to protect, and the role of the ICC in this context, amongst others. The thematic groupings are the following:

Day 1 (3 November): Myanmar and Thailand: Press Freedom and Human Rights
Day 2 (4 November): Myanmar and Thailand: The Role of Educational Institutions, CSOs, and Individuals
Day 3 (5 November): Spotlight on Myanmar: International Law and Humanitarian Intervention following the Coup
