The Nihonmachi Outreach Committee (NOC) will be hosting an online event to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings on August 8, 2020, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM (PT).
We are honored to present two distinguished speakers, Reverend Nobuaki Hanaoka and Reverend Takashi Tanemori, for this remembrance. They have dedicated their lives to peace and the end of nuclear war.
Reverend Hanaoka, a Nagasaki survivor and anti-war activist, will speak on his experiences and answer questions from the audience.
We will also present a short film by Jason Cordis featuring Reverend Takashi Tanemori, who survived the Hiroshima bomb. The film will be followed by a Q and A session with Reverend Tanemori and Jason Cordis.
Rinban Gerald Sakamoto of the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin and Reverend Keith Inouye of the San Jose Wesley United Methodist Church will also offer words of peace.
Registration is limited.
