Sustainable development cannot be achieved without local level leadership. For GNDR, localisation refers to structural changes at the local, national and international level, where local actors (local authorities, CSOs, businesses, communities) have the capacity, resources and power they need to decide how to strengthen their own resilience.
This webinar will introduce the overall theme of this webinar series by presenting key features of localisation as an approach for resilience-building and risk-informed development. In the session, participants will learn more about a toolkit to integrate risk consideration into development activities: the toolkit is a product currently being developed by GNDR, and it aims to support local and national CSOs to design holistic resilience-building actions. The tool will provide guidance on how to plan for complex disasters and utilise local risk information in development activities.
