Back to School: Strategies for Getting Kids Vaccinated and Navigating Colorado’s New Non-Medical Exemption Requirements
Overview -
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the disruption of several vaccine delivery systems, both in clinical settings and at offsite clinics, leading many Colorado children to fall behind on routine immunizations. Not only has COVID-19 set immunizations behind, the implementation of Colorado bill 163 has changed how non-medical exemptions are approved, leading parents to have direct conversations with their providers for approval. On July 21, 2021, Immunize Colorado will host a webinar during which public health experts from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment discussed Colorado’s school and childcare immunization data from the 2020/2021 school year and considerations for returning to school amid the pandemic and new legislation.

Speakers -
Cassie Littler, MD, Stacy Parra, MD, from the Colorado American Academy of Pediatrics and Maddie Grimm and Tavio Pirocchi from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
