47th Annual Engineering Insurance Conference - Afternoon Session
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. – PRESENTATION #3: "Silent Cyber and Equipment Breakdown"
• Speaker: Paul Morris of HSB

o Who knew that a cyberattack could cause physical equipment to break? Paul Morris investigates the overall Cyber landscape and focuses attention on risks associated with specific technologies as well as occupancies that could be at risk of physical damage impacting both Equipment Breakdown as well as All-Risk policies.

2:15 – 3:15 p.m. – PRESENTATION #4: "Using Numerical Simulation to Diagnose Boiler Tube Failures"
• Speaker: Eric Duplain of BMA Inc.

o Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulates fluid motion and heat transfer using numerical approaches and applied to a wide range of research and engineering problems in many fields of study and industries, including aerodynamics and aerospace analysis, weather simulation, natural science and environmental engineering, industrial system design and analysis, biological engineering, fluid flows and heat transfer, and engine and combustion analysis. This presentation with go through how to use CFD modeling to diagnose recurring tube failures in the convection bank of a boiler.
