This session organized by the European Young Chemists’ Network will involve panelists who are leading early-career professionals recognized for international contributions to the development of new technologies and innovative strategies. They will discuss prospects for innovation towards long-term sustainability.
Innovation is often considered as a short-term process to create an immediate outcome. Some short-sighted technological developments have been known to have a negative impact on regional geopolitics and/or ecosystems. With this in mind, today's grand challenge of addressing the Climate Change prompts the younger generation to develop sustainable innovation at the local and the global scale. The uprising generation researchers and entrepreneurs aim to create a synergy between efficiency and sustainability for innovation. How may they proceed? This will be the topic of the panel discussion. This session is of broad interest to academics, researchers, industrial leaders, and governmental representatives, providing insights on the role of early career professionals, emerging technologies, and innovation towards sustainable transformation of our society, which is particularly relevant to the implementation of the strategies of the European Green Deal and long-term sustainability globally.
