Wayne Thiebaud and Karen Wilkin: In Conversation
Wayne Thiebaud is a professor emeritus of art at the University of California, Davis and a painter. With a career spanning over 70 years, he is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and received the National Medal of Arts. He maintains a regular studio schedule and enjoys spending time with his family in Sacramento, CA.

Karen Wilkin is an independent curator and critic. She has written extensively on Stuart Davis, David Smith, Anthony Caro, Kenneth Noland, Helen Frankenthaler, Giorgio Morandi, Hans Hofmann, and Fairfield Porter, and organized exhibitions of their work internationally. She is a contributor to the Rizzoli monograph “Wayne Thiebaud.” A regular contributor to the Hudson Review, The New Criterion, and the Wall Street Journal, she teaches in the New York Studio School’s MFA program.
