This webcast is about Bowties, what are they and why do they occur. But more importantly, how can they be resolved. Most commonly found on kerb returns these anomalies occur when a batter or template overlaps at a tight bend or corner. The result is crossing break lines in the strings which can deform a surface and cause other issues in the Model Builder.
After the webcast, users will be able to diagnose a situation where a bowtie has occurred and what the possible remedies are, based on the effect on the rest of the design. To achieve this we will be:
• Examining extreme design scenarios that cause bowties.
• Locally manipulating the batters of a road as it approaches an intersection.
• Adjusting the batters within a kerb return.
• Reviewing the automation of the Grading Tool.
