Doctors & Diligent Patient Care Communication – A Strategy for Mitigating & Alleviating Costly Downgrades & Denials
Net patient revenue is under intense pressure related to third party payer overzealous efforts at cost containment utilizing tactics of medical necessity denials, clinical validation denials and DRG down-grades. Hospitals and health systems are spending enormous amounts of monies appealing claims significantly adding to the cost to collect. A large majority of these denials are avoidable on the front end with more effective and complete clinical documentation. This webinar will outline the difference between clinical documentation versus communication of patient care, how to conduct a current documentation insufficiency assessment, create of a vision that inspires physicians to becoming willing active participants in any CDI initiative, develop a strong roadmap to enhance the quality and completeness of communication of patient care, redesign and reposition current CDI programs to achieve real measurable improvement in clinical documentation and address inefficiencies identified as part of the conducted assessment, and development of a strong feedback loop mechanism to insure continual improvement in patient care communication that drives down and avoids unnecessary avoidable costly third-party payer denials.
