Teaching about Liberation: Stories from Soldiers & Survivors
For educators teaching about the military role of the US in WWII, the subject of liberation provides an excellent entry point to introduce the Holocaust. This webinar will examine liberation as an event that was both triumphant and tragic, and as a pivotal event in Holocaust history. Using the newest Educator Video Toolbox from Echoes & Reflections, “Liberators and Survivors: The First Moments," this webinar will examine the shock of the American liberators, who had seen war but had never confronted genocide, and the compassion most of them showed to the survivors.
