In this workshop, we will explore the power of storytelling in creating connections with young children. As we listen to a variety of stories, we will consider how they might be adapted for children of different ages and abilities. We will also consider how stories might be adapted to help us connect with children during zoom meetings.
Katie Shea taught preschool and primary students before she became the mother of a young child with developmental delays. After enjoying a warm and supportive experience receiving early intervention services with her youngest son, she decided to become a developmental therapist. Inspired by a storytelling great-grandmother, Katie has adapted stories to connect with her own children at home as well as in the classroom and the homes of the families she visits each week.
