Spotlight On...Black Birders Week
Join Deja Perkins as she shares about Black Birders' Week and the joys bird watching. Black Birders' Week was an online movement initiated by BlackAFinSTEM in 2020 in response to the Central Park bird watching incident, and police brutality against Black Americans. The annual week of online activities spotlights Black birders and focuses on the joys of experiencing the natural world, as well as the work to be done to combat racism and promote inclusivity in nature. Learn how you can become a part of a community of bird watchers and experience the wonders of birding.
