Brian Minns is responsible for the continuous improvement of Addenda Capital’s incorporation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes throughout the firm. He also engages with companies, regulators and policymakers on ESG matters in order to promote sustainable development. Addenda Capital is a privately-owned investment management firm with over $1.5 billion in impact investments. As a Signatory of the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Investment, Addenda was the first Canadian asset manager to sign the Montréal Carbon Pledge and to publish the carbon footprint of all its equity pooled funds. The firm then became a Sustaining Member of the Responsible Investment Association (RIA) and joined the Green Bond Principles initiatives as Investor Member. Its Impact Fixed Income Fund aims to generate compelling returns while improving society on Climate Change, Health and Wellness, Education and Community Development
Erica Barbosa
Director of Solutions Finance @J.W. McConnell Family Foundation
Erica is Director of Solutions Finance at The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, where she leads strategies for financial innovation and for integration of the Foundation's financial assets to support social and economic system's transformation. She oversees the management of a multi-asset impact investing portfolio (current size: $106M AUM), including blended finance approaches; and ESG integration within the Foundation's larger endowment ($650M). In her time at the foundation she has led the development of national initiatives including the Foundation's Social Innovation Fund (current size: $1 SM) which offers capacity building grants for social innovation organizations that are at early stages of development or scaling. As head of the Solutions Finance department, she works on the creation of new financial models to help scale high impact social and financial innovations. Erica has global professional experience in the private sector and international development.
Sarah Keyes, CPA

With a decade of diverse experience as a thought leader, consultant and auditor, Sarah is a recognized voice on the financial impacts of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues for the Canadian business community. She is a speaker, author and facilitator on the impacts of climate change risks and opportunities on governance, strategy, risk management and performance. Sarah is a Principal at ESG Global Advisors, a new consulting firm created to help bridge the gap between companies and shareholders on ESG issues. Prior to this role, Sarah was a Principal at Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) where she produced research, thought leadership and practical guidance for companies to integrate climate change considerations into business strategy, risk management, governance and reporting.
