QPP 2021 - 9th Colloquium on Quebec Studies

This event will be dedicated to exploring different facets of past and contemporary Quebec society, from increasing nationalism and multilingualism to the role this province plays on the international stage. Presentations about the province’s history and current indigenous affairs are equally part of this year’s program. We are proud to welcome established researchers and promising students from 13 different academic institutions in northern America for this virtual colloquium.

The keynote address will be delivered by Suzie O’Bomsawin. Ms. O’Bomsawin is the director of the Ndakina Office of the Grand Council of the Wabanaki Nation. She will talk about the ancestral territory of the Wabanaki Nation: the Ndakina.

This event is organized by the Eastern Townships Resource Centre (ETRC), Bishop’s University and the Institute on Quebec Studies located at the State University of New York (SUNY) in Plattsburgh.

Le colloque explorera les différentes facettes de la société québécoise d’hier à aujourd’hui, notamment la montée du nationalisme et du multilinguisme ainsi que le rôle que joue la province sur la scène internationale. Au programme cette année, il y aura des présentations sur l’histoire de la province et sur les affaires autochtones. Pour ce colloque, nous avons l’honneur d’accueillir des chercheuses et des chercheurs réputés ainsi que des étudiantes et des étudiants prometteurs provenant de 13 établissements universitaires nord-américains.
