Dawn Childs
President @Women's Engineering Society (WES)
WES has recently transitioned from a volunteer-led organisation to a not-for-profit SME, responding to the growing demand for their services. WES supports and inspires women to achieve as engineers, scientists and as leaders; encourages the education of engineering; and supports companies with gender diversity and inclusion. Their vision is a nation in which women are as likely as men to choose to study and work in engineering, and one in which there are enough engineers to meet a growing demand.
David Purdue
Host
David initially trained in musical theatre and dance at Performers College, spending a decade in shows, videos and touring. Highlights included Disney's 'High School Musical' on stage, fronting a video for UK band Razorlight and 18 months in a boy band touring across Europe. Since 'retiring' from performing aged thirty David has work as an events manager, firstly at the House of Commons and more recently for the Royal Horticultural Society. In his spare time David is currently a soloist with the London Gay Men's Chorus and co-created the 'Hobbies for Health' blog, as well as being a keen gardener.
