Join us as we learn more about the new National Museum of the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Army Historical Foundation President, LTG Roger Schultz (USA-Ret.) will join us virtually as we explore this monumental museum.

MEET THE SPEAKER: Lieutenant General Roger Schultz, USA-Retired, currently serves as the President of The Army Historical Foundation, located at the new National Museum of the United States Army near Fort Belvoir. Prior to this position, he completed 42 years of uniformed duty in the US Army and the Army National Guard.

His military service began in 1963 as a Track Vehicle Mechanic. He served 4 years as an enlisted Soldier and was commissioned as an Infantry officer following Officer Candidate School at the Iowa Military Academy. Serving in various leadership and staff positions throughout the active duty Army and Army National Guard, General
Schultz assumed duties as Director, Army National Guard, National Guard Bureau, Washington, DC on June 1, 1998. As Director, he was responsible for the formulation, development and implementation of all programs and policies affecting the Army National Guard. In that capacity he was also responsible for an $11.7 billion budget.

In addition to the corporate duties outlined above General Schultz has been an active volunteer. He is currently a Director with Our Military Kids, Director with Armed Forces Benefit Association, Senior Associate with AAAA, Trustee with the US Army War College Foundation and Member of the DoD 50th Vietnam Commemoration Committee. General Schultz also served as a senior military advisor to the Iraq Study Group. The Civil Support Teams in the National Guard today are a product of the Tiger Team that Schultz led in 1997 as part of an OSD initiative to better integrate Reserve and Active Components fighting domestic terrorism. He is also a recipient of the Roy Wilkins Renown Service Award.
