Across the United States, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated inequities and forced schools to become more collaborative and compassionate to ensure the success of all youth under all different circumstances. As we persist through the global pandemic, this moment offers us an opportunity to amplify youth voices to be catalysts of change and foster youth-adult partnerships to effectively advance equity together.
Join the Coalition for Community Schools’ Next Generation Coalition (NGC) on Thursday, October 22 from 6:30 PM EST - 8:00 PM EST, in a youth-led town hall to discuss the ongoing process of reopening schools (in-person, hybrid, and virtually), inequities we are experiencing, and advice for youth and adult partners to implement now and for years to come.
On this town hall, youth will discuss:
• How youth (primarily in high school) are feeling about their schooling situation (virtual, in-person, and hybrid);
• Challenges youth and schools are experiencing and innovations they are driving; and
• Suggestions to better support youth and youth-adult partnerships.
A Q&A session will follow moderated topic discussions.
What is NGC?
The Next Generation Coalition (NGC) is an alliance built and led by youth leaders that provide a platform to dismantle oppressive systems and to rebuild sustainable and equitable communities by networking, channeling, and training youth to create action and change.
