Aamar is a fellow member of ICA, senior lecturer focusing on financial crime compliance at University of Aberdeen (UK), external faculty member of ICA, external faculty member of International Chamber of Commerce Academy (ICCA) and managing director of Sigma Risk, a London based consulting firm specialising in financial crime compliance through innovative technology, advisory and training services.
Channing Mavrellis
Illicit Trade Director @Global Financial Integrity
Channing Mavrellis is the director of Global Financial Integrity’s program on illicit trade, focusing on the intersection of illicit financial flows, transnational crime, and international trade. Ms. Mavrellis has over nine years of experience working on issues related to anti-money laundering and countering terrorism financing (AML/CFT) and six years of conducting data-driven analysis of illicit trade and trade-related IFFs. In addition, she has three years of experience providing policy advice and training to U.S. and foreign government officials on illicit trade, in particular detecting and combating customs fraud and environmental crimes. She has delivered remarks on illicit trade, customs fraud, and IFFs at events organized by various high-level organizations including the OECD, UNDP, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Department of Defense.
Sajid Hussain
Chief Compliance Officer @United Bank Limited
Mr. Sajid Hussain is the Group Executive – Compliance of United Bank Limited (UBL). Mr Sajid has vast experience spanning over 23 years in the fields of Audit, Controls, Regulatory & Financial Crimes Compliance. Before joining UBL he was associated with a Big 4 firm and leading Banks within the financial services industry. As part of the Senior Management team at UBL, Mr. Sajid is member on the various Management Committees including Excom and Compliance Committee. He is managing Compliance Risk Management and Financial Crimes related issues at global level across the franchise. Prior to assuming the leadership role in Compliance, he led the Audit & Risk Review Group of UBL for around four years and transformed it into a vibrant unit focused on safeguarding Bank’s interest while inculcating high ethical standards across the Bank. He has been speaking at various forums relating to Financial Crimes, Audit & Risk Review apart from being a trainer in this field.
Akram Zaki
Senior Joint Director @State Bank of Pakistan
Mr. Akram Zaki has over 30 years’ experience of working in central bank. He is currently associated with its Foreign Exchange Operations for over 12 years. His area of expertise are in Interpretation of Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947 and its salient points, Export and import-enforcement and legal procedure, Prosecution and Adjudication process against exporters, importers, Authorized Dealers, Government subsidy schemes to exporters, traders. Besides having degree of Master in Commerce, he is MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA). He is an approved Master Trainer of State Bank (Banking Services Corporation) in the area of Foreign Exchange. He has conducted various courses and seminar on foreign exchange related areas. He is extensively engaged in providing capacity building training to all banks officials engaged in Trade Finance, Young officers of SBP BSC etc.
