How We Farm Salmon
Description
~ PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A BE CRC PARTICIPANTS ONLY WEBINAR ~
We believe that for researchers to develop solutions to offshore farming issues, they need to have a general understanding of the industry. It may be easy to solve a single issue, but this becomes more difficult when all other operational aspects are considered.
This webinar is intended to provide a basic understanding of the general requirements of finfish farming in Tasmania and New Zealand, so that researchers are able to take a more holistic approach to project development and problem solving. The industry in Tasmanian and New Zealand has made great strides in research and development over the past 35 years, and many approaches have been tried and discarded, what is needed to support the development of finfish farming in truly high energy environments is a bringing together of ideas, technology and experience from different and complementary fields, and an understanding that all parties have something to bring to the table when developing Blue Economy CRC projects.
These three industry researchers will present what they believe are the key areas for research focus within salmon farming within the Blue Economy CRC.
