On Thursday afternoon, July 29, the Social Security Advisory Board will host a roundtable on Medical Evidence Collection. The Social Security Administration (SSA) and its state-partner Disability Determination Services (DDS) rely on medical evidence to determine eligibility for Social Security disability programs. The Board will bring together state DDS managers and staff, a claimant attorney, and former SSA executives for a roundtable discussion. The first session will introduce the types and formats of evidence and the process for collecting it. The second session will highlight strategies to improve the process.
