How weeds influence a vineyard
Weeds put simply are plants growing out of place. They can have a number of negative impacts on vineyard production, although in some instances they provide benefits. How weeds are perceived in vineyards varies and this has a bearing on which weed control measures should be employed. This webinar will consider the pros and cons of weeds and the non-chemical control options that are available.

Tony Hoare is a Senior Viticulturist in the AWRI Industry Development and Support team, where his main focus is viticultural extension. Tony has wide-ranging viticultural experience in practical, technical and research fields. He has held various roles including vineyard hand, establishing and managing vineyards, company viticulturist, grower liaison, consultant and contractor. Tony is currently researching the role of soil chemistry and wine quality through a Masters program at the University of Adelaide and is also co-founder and co-owner of McLaren Vale winery, cellar door and restaurant, Beach Road Wines, with his wife Briony.
