Infrastructure is often developed in silos by type or sector, leading to unnecessary duplication and complication. Roads get torn up multiple times for separate water, telco, or roading work. Planners need to coordinate multiple data sets in different formats for each location. Why do we still face these challenges in the year 2020? A Digital Twin may be the answer. A Digital Twin would be a platform for shared data on all of New Zealand’s infrastructure, which would enable consistency, efficiency, and simpler collaboration across all infrastructure projects. This webinar will feature some of the brightest minds from New Zealand and abroad to discuss how this can be done, the value it can bring, and the next steps to building our Digital Twin.
