Online with LSE hosts Julia Gouvea, Assistant Professor of Education at Tufts University, for a discussion of her study examining the extent to which students' "wrong" biological ideas stem from deeply held misconceptions. This work challenges the theoretical, methodological and empirical basis for claims of cognitive stability and explores the implications of understanding student thinking as more fluid and context-dependent.
