Food loss and waste are still a major concern within the entire food system. All actors along food chains are involved in one way or the other: farmers, wholesalers, merchants, food processors, transporters and consumers. Current FAO Statistics indicates that globally 1/3 of all agricultural produce is lost or wasted. In other words, it is not being used what it has been produced for.
This AGRITECHNICA ASIA & HORTI ASIA Digital Talks #2 will focus firstly on technical options that is available on the market how to prevent food loss primarily at farm or retail level. Secondly, awareness and management qualification is perceived as an essential precondition in order to use technical equipment properly, thus various speakers will highlight both topics in this upcoming session.
