IDDBA Webinar Series: Understanding the Provisions of the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard
Scheduled to take effect in January 2022, the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard is a national mandatory standard for disclosing foods that are or may be bioengineered. The standard impacts food retailers, manufacturers, importers, and other organizations that package and label food for retail sale or sell bulk food items.

Join the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for a live webinar that will provide a broad overview of the standard and its requirements for compliance.

Topics will include:

• The definition of bioengineered food and how to determine if your food requires a disclosure.
• Applicable exemptions.
• How the disclosure should be made.
• General recordkeeping requirements.
• How USDA will monitor compliance with the standard.

Presenting will be Lakshmanan Ramamoorthi, senior technical advisor at the USDA-Agricultural Marketing Service.

If you already have specific questions about the standard, we encourage you to submit them prior to the webinar. The USDA will answer a selection of submitted questions during the live webinar. Please submit questions to Eric Richard at erichard@iddba.org.

May 11, 2021 11:00 AM in Central Time (US and Canada)
