Tara Flint
Environmental Protection Specialist & Risk Manager @U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Tara Flint is originally from a small town on the coast of California, but currently lives in Washington D.C., working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Pesticide Programs. Her current position focuses on the review of chemistry and toxicology documents for new and existing antimicrobial pesticides (the products used to kill bacteria, viruses and mold in houses, hospitals, schools, etc.). For the last six months, she has also been dedicating 25% of her work schedule to the EPA’s National Estuary Program, researching opportunities for increased community resiliency and systems-based watershed management. Before joining the EPA, Tara served with the United States Peace Corps in Nicaragua as an environmental education volunteer, primarily working with elementary school students and teachers, as well as coffee farmers. During that time she became fluent in Spanish and developed a love for working with communities, growing her own food, hiking volcanoes and cooking.
