In the third decade of the 21st century, as an effect of the pandemic trauma, a reshaping of the collective Unconscious is possibly underway.
The bio-info-psycho-virus is changing irreversibly social proxemic, affective expectations, and the relation between desire and sensuousness. The lines of the mutation are presently blurred, ill defined, but some general directions can be already guessed: first of all the proximity of bodies is endangered, and becomes problematic.
Secondly the spread of suffering in the pandemic age (not only medical suffering, but also economic, social suffering, and at the end mental suffering) is going to be so intolerable that a form of immunisation against emotion may become dominant: Autism and Alexitymia enter the fray of the psycho-sphere as internalisation of the refusal to feel the emotion of the others, and possibly also the emotion of the self.
We cannot describe a linear path of mutation, but a magmatic field of possibility. However, for the first time in the history of men, we are going through a process of psycho-physical senescence, of exhaustion.
As an effect the human culture enters the horizon of extinction.
For the first time "extinction" turns into a political keyword.
However, as the Unconscious is not a depository but a laboratory, the question is now: how will the changing Unconscious find a way out from its own nightmares?
